A Crash Course in... Writing Emotions is a monthly series including four separate events: Writing Fear, Writing Joy, Writing Grief and Writing Compassion. Each session will approach the emotion from multiple angles, including practice, craft, genre, and concrete, sensory description.
Grief is a complex emotion. One that we all experience personally, and in our collective consciousness. How might we address and process grief in our writing? What language might we use to express grief on the page?
Writing Grief is hosted by KR Moorhead and features Special Guest Facilitator, Sophie Robinson.
Sophie Robinson is a poet, novelist and nonfiction writer. She is the author of a, The Institute of Our Love in Disrepair and Rabbit, and her writing has appeared in Poetry Review. The Believer, BOMB magazine, The Guardian, Stylist, The Quietus and The Independent. She is currently finishing her first novel. She has performed her work internationally, and is the founder of Devotion Workshop.
