Mentoring & Support Services
My experience working with neurodivergent writers has taught me that it is impossible to separate our creative lives from the rest of our lives. Therefore, I offer a holistic, neuroqueer approach to creative mentoring and support work. This means that while our work together may focus on discussing your specific creative projects, support is likely to also include: reflecting on your creative process; verbally processing concepts and/or life events; organising admin & to-do lists; task initiation; body-doubling; prioritisation and really anything that impacts your creative practice.

Online Tutorials
One-to-one tutorials are at the heart of my mentoring practices. These spaces allow clients to verbally process, which gives me the opportunity to support them in 'translating themselves back to themselves' and uncovering where their interests and blockages actually sit. From this foundation, we can experiment with ways to approach these interests and blocks in iterative, neuroqueer, sustainable ways.
My standard rate for tutorials is £85 per hour; however, I offer a discounted rate of £75 per hour for all marginalised creatives. While I am happy to arrange standalone, one-off tutorials, I offer a further 5% discount when booking two or more tutorials at once.
If you intend to meet at least once a month and will be paying for support through Access to Work funding, I offer a 50% discounted rate of £37.50 per hour. The 5% block booking discount does not apply in this case.
Reading & Feedback
I also offer my skills and experience in editorial feedback, specifically for prose writing of any kind (fiction, autofiction, memoir, personal essay, hybrid projects etc). I usually suggest that a draft is pretty much 'complete' before passing it to me, although I am happy to give more developmental feedback to regular tutorial clients.
When giving feedback, I will read your manuscript, but will not 'mark it up'. Instead, I will send you a 1-2 page notational feedback report. This report can be tailored to your specific questions and areas for consideration. I usually suggest that at a minimum 30-minute tutorial is also booked for discussion of the feedback report.
I do not offer line-editing, marginalia or copyediting. For this, I recommend contacting Marta Rose at marta@martarose.com
My standard rate for reading & feedback is £75 per 2,000 words. This includes the written report, but does not include a tutorial.
